I awoke from a Sunday afternoon nap contemplating life and thinking about the workweek ahead. Made myself a cup of Trader Joe’s Organic Sencha Tea. This review will be easy because of the promise made on the package:
The organic sencha leaves found in this tea are grown and harvested in the ancient Kirishima region of Japan, where tea has been grown since the 1300s. The tea leaves are picked young and then quickly steamed to prevent oxidation. They boast a delicate, savory-sweet flavor with a bright green infusion.
I couldn’t say it any better. This is a subtle but pleasing sencha with a pretty, fluorescent greenish-yellow color — perfect for Sunday afternoon rumination.
The directions say to use boiling water (something I normally wouldn’t do with green tea) and steep 1 – 2 minutes. I’m here to tell you to go for 2 minutes; it’ll be fine.
Time for some more Sunday reflection. Shall I check my work calendar and plan for the week ahead like successful people do? Not today. Screw that. I’m going to make this weekend last as I slowly sip my sencha tea and think about the words on the package.
Right on, Trader Joe’s, right on.
